About the Author

I’m a cake maker and home cook, living in the Irish countryside with my family of enthusiastic tasters and critics.  I grow my own fruit and vegetables and try to use these in my recipes as much as possible. I like to make use of whatever fresh produce is in season, and try to make economical choices when I buy my ingredients. Many of my recipes are inventions of my own but I also use other recipes for inspiration.

Cakes, Bakes and Simple Suppers is a collection of my favourite everyday recipes. I use simple ingredients that are easy to source (and won’t break the bank!) to create simple, wholesome food – from tried and tested family favourites, to more adventurous new creations inspired by the seasons.

I hope that you’ll enjoying trying my recipes as much as I enjoyed creating them!

  1. Hi Jane, It is Joanne. Many thanks for your dedication at the foot of your scone recipe! I had given up trying to make scones a long time ago even though they are my husband’s favourite. We have more success with spicy rock cakes. Isabelle and I have now tried a couple of your recipes. The simple biscuits which she put mini eggs on and took into school for her classmates and today the scones, both of which were most successful.
